(by busy I mean 'boy did I eat a lot!')

For the last week we have been entertaining C's mum. She is a lovely lady, and as she lives in Queensland, we dont see her much. I feel exhausted from all the shopping trips, meals out, visiting of family and friends that has occured lately.

Christmas was spent at my parents house. They sure did lay on a feast....we ate something that swims (prawns), something that walks (ham) and something that flies - sort of (turkey). After a day of eating and drinking, myself, C, K and C's mum all rolled back to our place and pretty much crashed.

The other day I went up to the central coast to visit C's brother. I love it up there. It is only an hour from Sydney, and yet life seems so much more peaceful and a lot more laid-back. It must be because the place is surrounded by beaches and water...it is definately a beautiful area. The only problem with the Coast, is that there is an abundance of Bogans!

I am really looking forward to New Years Eve now, I feel like I can just unwind with my friends. For NYE we are having a BBQ at our place, nothing over the top, just a few good friends and a few good drinks. We have a great suburban view from here, and we will be able to see the fireworks that go off near Manly Beach at midnight. It sounds like a recipe for a good night, but we will see.....

On New Years Day I am making the yearly appearance at Field Day. 20,000 sydney siders dancing to funky house music in a huge park in the city. I am so damn keen! The acts appearing this year (Derrick Carter, Bob Sinclair and Roger Sanchez) will be awesome, I can hardly contain myself. The only draw back with Field Day is that you get a lot of posers who go just to be seen. Plenty of pink shirts, short shorts and bad attitudes. Apart from that, it should be a tops day though! :)

Well happy partying everyone, enjoy the new year and I will write again soon!

Ciao!

room with a view

I am going to have to post a picture of the view from my study. Work is going great guns, I am still really happy there. Things with C are going great too. We have the odd dissagreement, but generally we get over it.

I am having a BBQ on New Years Eve at my place this year. I have never thrown one, but myself C and K decided we would be the hosts for 05/06. I am really looking forward to it, there will only be about 10 of us - but that is a nice group.

My main enjoyment will come from Field Day, I love going to Field Day every year, its so big and so loud that you just can't not have a good time.

Things in Sydney have been crazy lately - bogans + Lebanese gangs = riots
Not a good thing really! As usual, a vocal minority ruin things for the greater majority.

I will say that I tend to dissaprove of the actions taking by many of the young middle eastern men. I think their attitudes towards this country are a joke and they show a complete lack of respect. I am not saying this of the majority, just those vocal few who ruin it for the rest of the community.

Anyway, enough on that!

Not much more to say, except that I can't wait for U2 next year! haha (long time away!).

Well im off, dont want to be on here too long as C doesn't like me to be :( hehe that wicked woman! ;)

P.S If anyone is out there, post your blog link so I can have a read - I love reading about other people!

Ciao!

Fridge-ed

Hello!

How are we all? (chirp, chirp)

So my week has been great! I have been so busy at work, so time has been going quite fast!

Im really getting along well with everyone at work. My team are great! It gets me down though because as I am only a 6 month temp, my time is limited. I have been talking to my manager about staying on pernamently, and the feedback I have receieved has been really good.

I know that if I stay on, it will be the perfect thing for my career. If I dont get kept on though, I think it will be a huge dent in my career!

I absolutely love working in HR, it is something that really interests me now, much more than it used to. There are just so many aspects to it that interest me. Whether its:
- dealing with a performance issue between a manager and an employee, or
- researching into organisational change and looking at where the company wants to position itself in a few years.

It is such a great spectrum of work that I dont want to end!

Anywho, things with C are going really well at the moment. We arent as cranky at each other as the other week and last night (Friday) we had a really nice time together.

After work we caught up for a drink at a small bar in the city, it was nice to just sit back and have a beer at the end of the week and have a chat with her. Then we tottled off to Sushi Train. We have been going to the AWESOME sushi place on Liverpool Street. I think last night the chefs remembered us - which was very exciting.

Afterwards we just came home and chilled out on the couch, watched a movie and had a few drinks.

I love Friday nights with my baby! Out of all the time we spend together, Fridays are definately the best! (besides those moments of hot love making) haha.

Anyway, we just got a fridge delivered, so I must be off to pack it full of food!

Ciao!

Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

A-OK

Well Hello!!

Once again, as usual, I havn't written in a while. This time it is because I have had my mind on other things...

I spoke to my Doctor today, and after a week of waiting, my results came in....all is good!! Thank GOD! I was really getting worried there for a while. I had to undergo so many random and disgusting tests. Ultra Sounds, Blood Tests, Urine Tests (by the bucket load!). But all is well :)

Lets hope that I don't have to go through anything like that again, because its not the best thing to be tested for something that could range from a burst blood vessell, to an STD, to Cancer.

Im definately one of those people who internalises everything though. I kept the whole thing to myself really, I know many people who when they have a problem, think it is their right to tell everyone to get sympathy.

Work has been going really well. We have had quite a few new people start since I have been there, and the team gets on really well. I am still loving working in an office dominated by women, although I am not enjoying the nickname of 'Peaches'. haha

This week I have made a strong attempt to seriously get back into the gym routine. I have been 3 nights in a row so far and I am feeling really good about it. C has been going consistently for a few weeks now so I definately need to play catch up!

The other weekend I went to Parklife...I am a huge fan of Fuzzy events. They combine cheesy house music, good weather, great DJ's and some of Sydneys most beautiful landscapes to creat one damn funky party. I am not a fan, however, of the posers that generally attend these events.

Parklife was huge this year, way bigger than previous ones, it almost rivaled Field Day!

C and I got rightly toasted and had a great day....especially when it ended with one of my mates passing out on my couch and throwing up. Gold!

Things with C are going fairly well. I guess they are not going as well as they could be though. I think we are so madly in love with each other that we smother ourselves, the result is that we spend too much time in each others pockets. We are trying to work it out though. I think its important that we both have the common goal in mind - staying together and being happy - so I am sure we can work through our problems.

I need to include a rant in this post...

I hate cyclists in the city!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They piss me off like you would not believe. I think if it wasn't for the fact that I double check before crossing any road, I would have been cleaned up by a moron cyclist running through a red light about 5 times this year! Seriously, they think they own the roads! Working in a city like Sydney, with every Tom Dick and Harriet pushing their way through you on a foot path, the last thing you need is some tool on a pair of wheels cutting you off on YOUR footpath.

Ok the rant is over :)

I'll be back soon!

Byeeeeeeeeeeee

bloody

Well once again it has been a long time since I have written. And once again I am writing on the verge of being sick.

I am finding it increasingly hard to get some time to myself to come and update my blog. Work is keeping me so busy at the moment! By the time I get home, all I want to do is spend time with C and just relax in between doing housework or cooking.

Life is always busy for me! I guess most people are in that situation though, wouldnt we all like some extra R&R time?

Funnily enough, I have just returned from a weekend away on the coast with C and some friends. We stayed at a holiday house owned by the parents of a friend of mine. It was such a nice weekend. Full of relaxing, sunbaking, kicking the footy, drinking, firing up the BBQ and playing Ping Pong....my idea of a good time! But as with most holidays, it was way too short.

I'm home at the moment because I had a bit of a scare this morning. Its quite personal, but basically I was peeing blood! Not good! When a young guy does this, two things come to mind - Prostate Cancer
- STD

I ruled out the latter as C and I are normally very careful, but I guess you never can tell.
I'm pretty sure I won't have Cancer, as I am a bit too young for the prostate variety.

The Dr. is unsure of what could be causing the blood, so I am undergoing a few tests. I have about 75 different jugs and jars to pee in (how fun!) and I have to have a blood test tomorrow.

Im hoping its nothing major, but the most worrying part of it all is the fear of the unknown.

Its interesting, I have always pondered how I would 'go' and I have always had a feeling it would be cancer. How morbid?!

Im actually crossing my fingers that I just a burst blood vessel or something in my bladder. I guess when the options presented to you are cancer, STD or the unkown, then you tend to go a bit mental.

So the next few days should be some good times!

I hate being a drama queen, but it is actually really scary playing the waiting game. I guess it would be like the wait between a blood test and finding out if you have AIDS. Scary stuff!

Im trying to do things to take my mind off things, otherwise I will worry way too much over what could potentially be nothing at all.

So I guess its back to downloading music and playing Nerdy PC games.

I will write more soon - If anyone reads that is! haha

Byeeeeeeeeeeeee

home body

Howdy!

So I am home sick today. There was a period of about a year when I didnt have anything wrong with me, but alas in the last few months I have been sick twice!

I seem to get all types of sicknesses, I think I've had just about everything
- Bronchitus (used to get it a few times a year)
- Viral infections of some variety
- Brocken finger (at least not a brocken arm or leg)
- Tonsilitus (4 times)
- Glandular Fever
- Swollen Spleen (put me out of action for 6 months)
- Various infections related to my bad wisdom teeth, which were all removed together

I have a sneaking suspicion that I have another case of Tonsilitus.

My throt is absolutely killing me, Im struggling to swallow, my body is aching. I really hope it isn't tonsilitus though, for once I would just like a period of NOT having some random illness.

Im guessing its not a good thing when you spit blood though, so I am thinking about going to the doctor.

I have seen the same doctor for most of my life, I think I have kept him in business! haha

Anywho, will write more today, I feel a rant coming on!

Byeeeee

Back from the dead!

Good lord where have I been????

I must apologise to myself for such a prolonged absence!

To get you back up to date, I will break this post into three categories: Work, Home and Play

Work
The 'new' job is going great guns. I have fitted in really well and am understanding my role more and more each day. I have such a diverse range of things to do, so I think thats why I love this job. The people are also great, working in a department that is 90% female is not too bad at all! hehe I also love working in a company that is so big! I have never really worked for a global organisation before.

Home
There have been some MAJOR changes in this regard! Firstly, I am still madly in love with my girfriend C. So much so that we moved in together! I am also still really good friends with my sister K, so much so that we moved in together! (again).

Thats right, the three of us are living together! We're the original odd couple! haha

Actually its awesome, the unit is a 3 bedroom mansion in Crows Nest. We have a gorgeous north-east view towards willoughby/chatswood/cammeray and beyond - due to the fact that we are on the top floor of a 5 storey brand new unit block.

I love everything about the unit. Its so new that no-one has lived there before. Fortunately it is a well made building too, so we dont hear our neighbours going to the toilet. Speaking of neighbours, the ones we have met so far are great! AAA all around!

Play
Things here are great too, I got back into the gym last week and havn't looked back. Its time to turn this skinny arms back into the cannons they used to be haha

Its also time to lose some of my little beer belly! eeek

Anywho, this was just a quickie, but in the words of Geroge Castanza (Seinfeld).....

"I'm back baby!!!!!!!!!!!"

Red Carded

Long time no update!

Well the new job is going amazingly well! I am absolutely loving it. The people are great, the company is great and the work is extremely interesting.

I have definately joined the company at an exciting time. There are several large projects going on in HR involving oranisational structure and strategy. This is something that interests me greatly so hopefully as my time progresses, I will be able to get more involved.

Within my first few days I had sat through many long meetings in the companies showcase board room, so I am definately in my element. I love everything associated with the corporate life so I am determined to make a good impression within the company.

Having only just started, work has been consuming a large majority of my life at the moment. So much so that I am sick as we speak. Today I turned up to the office with a shocking cold. I was promptly sent home before lunch so as not to make others sick. I can understand why, it is a little annoying and I feel terrible about it, but I guess 'thems the breaks'.

Things are going very well with C at the moment. She is in the process of moving from her current rental to another. So it is quite exciting yet worrying at the same time.

Last week I fulfilled my goal set in the previous post - that of buying new business shirts. I spent up big at Myer (all of 3 shirts were purchased). IM very happy with my purchases, and I think once I am paid I will buy some more shirts and some new stylish ties!

I also noticed that I have 2 comments in my journal. I was so excited when I saw them! woo hoo!

How sad am I? haha

Well, I am now off to have a shower, get into bed and attempt to make myself better. Good luck!

Byeeeeee

I cant wait!

Well hello!
Its Sunday night now, my least favourite night of the week :( Its always an afternoon/evening I definately do not look forward to. I think it relates to my time as a child, dreading going to school the next morning.

Tomorrow afternoon I have my LAST exam :0 woo hoo! I am so excited!

On Tuesday I start my new job, and I am actually very excited about that too. However I do need to do a few things in the first few days of working....buy new work shirts! I must improve my wardrobe if I am to make a good impression.

I have a gorgeous grey pinstripe suit which I bought for the Derby Day Races in Autumn. I have also just acquired a new black pin stripe suit too. So I am ok on that behalf, I just need some new shirts and ties to update my wardrobe.

I feel another of my famous quotes coming along, its one I actually try to live up to.

"In order to be successfull, one must project an image of success".

Hence why I spend so much on clothes :)

So its the end of the weekend. And what a great weekend it was!

On Friday night I was very keen to have a drink, after finishing an exam, so I met the girlfriend and went drinking with some friends. It was a good night, with a suitable hangover the following morning.

Today was awesome, C and I slept in and then headed to Yum Cha with my sister K. Yum Cha is just that, Yum! To anyone who hasn't partaken in the delight that is lunch in a chinese restaurant, then I highly recommend it! The afternoon was spent laying in bed cuddling with C, in my humble opinion, the perfect way to spend a day!

So now I must return to my last minute studying. Will write more soon!

Byeeeeeeee

pay off

Howdy!
So I have some good news for myself! The job I wrote about in my previous entry - well its now mine! I went to the interview last Friday, and on Wednesday of this week recieved the news that I had landed the role. I am quite excited.

Today I told everyone at work that I will be leaving. A good friend of mine at work, L, said 'Well its about time'. I guess taht pretty much sums up my feelings too. She was very excited for me, but of course I will miss everyone here.

I am really looking forward to the new role. I'm finally working in a nice city office! haha Actually the level I will be on looks quite nice, the walls are all wood grain and it looks quick suave!

The money is quite good too, nothing too high sadly, but it will allow me to buy myself a present once a week :)

In other news, I have an exam tomorrow morning at Uni. How exciting. Not.

Anyways, I shall return again soon, hopefully with more good news!

Byeeee

City Plumbing

At the risk of being disgusting, I am going to tell you a little too much information!

Ok, now I love the unit I live in. Its in a perfect location - North Sydney. I am close to everything I could ever need. There are some excellent pubs and bars, good shopping, good transport, and nice views. I live near a gorgeous, large public park. However, since moving in to the unit the toilet has been a major problem. On a few occassions it has decided that it would no longer like to flush and so a plumber must be called.

Continue at your own risk.

So for the last few days we have had no toilet in this unit. We are still waiting for the plumber to come as we have requested a new toilet and that some other bathroom abnormalities to be fixed. Tonight I had to go to the local pub, The Oaks, to use their fascilities. I did not order a drink or a meal. I walked straight in and went straight to the bathroom. I am so ashamed and embarrassed.

I guess there is some humour to be found though :)

Now on to more pleasant things...

I have a job interview on friday. Its for a position I would really love to get. I really want to work in HR or Marketing. Presently I am studying Marketing, and I guess it is my preffered career path, however something about HR appeals to me. I would love to work in the HR department of a large global financial institution. I dont know why though! hehe

So anyway, this job is in HR in a pretty large company, so fingers crossed! It would provide me with excellent experience, and would give me a foot in the door in a global company.

Ever since I was little I have had an obsession about working in the Sydney CBD. I used to tell my parents that one day I would 'work in an office in the city'. When they asked what type of job I wanted to do, all I would say is 'something in an office'. I guess I have always been attracted to working in a large building, with gorgeous views in this city I love so much. Who isn't drawn to working in huge skyscrapers, wearing trendy suits, being in the centre of am awesome city, meeting heaps of people and being able to earn decent money.

My current role, which is in the city, lives up to half my childhood dream. I am in the CBD. However I work in a building that is one of the smallest in the city, and that surely must be on the list of 'Top 10 buildings to be redeveloped in the next 5 years'. To be blunt, its an eyesore. So much for working in a beautiful skyscraper! I guess you can't have everything hey.

Keeping in line with my recent post that included a quote, I will refer to a quote I heard from my best mate D.......

'You can't have everything, if you did, where would you put it?'.

One day I intend to prove that quote wrong! haha Im almost there I guess...

women!

Why is it that some people cannot see what is right in front of them???

I just spoke to my sister K and she told me something very annoying!

On the weekend she broke up with her boyfriend (thats good news). He was an absolute tool. He was possessive, jealous, insecure, arrogant, demeaning, controlling, belittling and anything else you want to add, towards my sister.

I knew this, my gf C knew this, my parents and friends knew this. But today, after we were all thanking the good lord for letting K see this and for breaking them up, she tells me "I told him I was willing to listen to him".

I cannot believe it.

If they get back together, I will tell her that he is not welcome in this house (I live with K).

This is the second time they have brocken up. It is also about the 35th time I've seen her crying because of him.

I heard a saying once and I think it should apply to everyone. "The person who is worth all your tears will not make you cry" (something like that anyway). I can proudly say that I have never made my girlfriend C cry - Although I do have the odd bout of being a stupid idiot and causing problems, but that is a post for another day!

Oh and to those wondering why a guy makes so much of a fuss about his sister, well its because I love her! We live together, have done a few times since moving out of home. She is older than me (nearly 30) and yet I am very protective of her. So when I see her with what I like to call 'fish from the wrong stream' I tend to let her know.

Sorry, but I just needed to vent.

Im off!

give me my money back

Well I am back again! (not as often as I would like but hey, at least im here!)

So it's now tuesday and I think I have finally recovered from my huge weekend.

It was one of those weekends that starts off as, 'I think we should have a quiet one' and ends in, 'I have a headache'.

Me and my gorgeous girlfriend - lets call her C - came back to mine on friday night after work and had planned on staying in. However boredom set in after 15 minutes and we called a good mate of mine, D, and headed off to our local for a few drinks. Twas a good night that ended in me being VERY drunk.

So then on saturday night the two of us caught up with my sister, K, and a few common friends after a wedding they had been to. It proved to be an all nighter, and Sunday consisted of sleeping half the day away, and then dragging ourselves around some shoppping centre in search of greasy food and a few bargains.

This entry is the first in which I have mention specific people in my life. I held off in previous entries due to the fact that I was unsure how much detail I should go into. I would like to remain anonymous, so that is why names have been ommitted! Although anyone who actually knows me would decipher my 'codenames' within 2 seconds!

So a little more about my girlfriend. I have been with C for 6 months now. She is was my first relationship in over a year. I had purposely stayed out of the game for some time. I made a conscious effort to improve my friendships before getting into another relationship, and Im really glad I held off. We get along like a house on fire. Its awesome. She is definately my best friend and casual sex partner all roled into one haha

Whilst it has only been 6 months, I can quite easily say that I love her. I really enjoy all the time I spend with her. Although, when she mentions moving in together, I know I am not ready at this point. I wouldn't want to spoil a good thing. It is my personal view that couples should not rush things like that, I guess in that sense I am a traditionalist.

Can I just say that I detest studying! I have my end of semester exams approaching very soon (like in the next few weeks) and I am not looking forward to them. I am finding it hard to fit in enough study, but as always I am sure I will be OK.

Anywho, I better get back to the books, I do hope someone out there is reading this??

Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Go the Tah's

Howdy!

Well on Saturday night I went to the local with a bunch of mates and watched the final of the Rugby Super 12's. My beloved Warratahs were up against the huge juggernaut of the Crusaders from Christchurch. Sadly we lost :(
It was always going to be a tough one, but it was a really great game! My voice was a little shaky the next day after screaming! haha

It is so cold in Sydney at the moment! I hate it! haha actually I dont...the one good thing about cold weather, is being able to dress in lots of layers and look really sophisticated for work...provided you have lots of layers to dress in!

I really need to buy lots of new winter clothes, my wardrobe at this point resembles what I recently took on a holiday to tropical Fiji - board shorts and thongs. So I need to add some long sleeved shirts!

Anyways, better be off!

Byeeeeeeeeeee

Howdy!
Well I havn't posted in a while because as I am still new to this and keep forgetting! I still do not know/understand how people can access my blog to read it...im talking about random people, not those I send a link to! Do I have to go and shamelessly promote myself?

So I have not been up to much at all, just working and going to uni. Work is really boring at the moment. I am defiantely ready to move on to a role with more responsibility and career oppurtunities. I am desperate to get into my area of education - Marketing - and out of recruitment. I just have to keep looking I guess, so until I find a job, I shall not give up!

Today it was announced that Schappelle Corby was guilty of drug trafficing in Bali - for those who don't know, she is an Australian girl accused of smuggling marijuana into Bali. Blind Freddy could have seen that she was innocent, however for various reasons the Indonesian Court has judged ehr as being guilty A decision we must respect, but one I certainly do not agree with (and I am not alone there!).

Today is a friday, so I am very keen for some after work drinks in the city. Bring them on! Who is with me??

Anywho, I am off, I had better get back to work - or at least make enough movements as to give the illusion that I am working ;)

Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Ok Im back again!

Just a quickie.......if ANYONE is reading this could you please send a message or something and offer a lil help....How do I get more people to read my blog once it up and running? i.e how do people find me?

Not too sure how it all works thats all!

Byeeeeeeeee

Lets start at the very beginning...

Okay, well if all goes to plan then this should be my first post!
A time to celebrate? we will see!

Hopefully I will keep posting in here, because I would like to have a record of my thoughts and what has been going on in my life. However I have this feeling I may forget to post and my thoughts and feelings will go unpublished. So fingers crossed and lets hope I stick to this!

So, a bit about me...
Im a 24 year old guy from Sydney. I live here, work here, study here and love it here. There are rarely any times when I contemplate leaving this city, im addicted to it (amongst other things).

Ive lived here 97% of my life, and will probably spend most of my days here. At present, I live in the heart of North Sydney (just over the Bridge). I work in the heart of the city (the fabulous Sydney CBD) and I study in the heart of the west (well not really, but its innner westish!).

I have lived on the Lower North Shore my whole life. It stretches from North Sydney to the area around Chatswood and Lindfield. People who live here are often stereotyped, much like those in the Inner East and those in the Greater West (or as I call them, the snobs and the bogans..............just kidding!)

Sydney is a great city, but every suburb fits into a stereotype. I for one love this, I find humour in stereotypes, and I like those who break them.

Anyway, I shall definately write more later. For now, I must be off! I hope someone is reading this?

Byeeeee
